Where is Oral Roberts University
From the north: Take 75 South to the 71st Street exit. Take 71st street exit east. Follow 71st for approximately 3 miles to the intersection of 71st and Lewis. Turn right at the stoplight onto Lewis. Follow Lewis for 1/4 mile until you come to the campus on the east side (left) of Lewis prior to 81st Street. From the south: Take 75 North to the 71st Street exit. Turn right onto 71st. Follow 71st for approximately 3 miles to the intersection of 71st and Lewis. Turn right at the stoplight onto Lewis. Follow Lewis for 1/4 mile until you come to the campus on the east side (left) of Lewis prior to 81st Street. From the east: Take the Lewis Avenue exit off of I-44. There is a stoplight at the end of the exit. Turn left at the stoplight onto Lewis. Follow Lewis for 2 1/4 miles until you come to the campus on the east side (left) of Lewis prior to 81st Street. From the west: Take the Riverside Drive exit off of I-44. Turn left onto Riverside and follow it for approximately 3 miles until 81st Street. At the intersection of 81st and Riverside, turn left. Go 1/3 mile to the 81st and Lewis intersection. The campus is in the northeast corner of this intersection (to your left). From downtown Tulsa: Take Denver Avenue south to Riverside Drive. Turn left onto Riverside and follow it for approximately 6 miles until 81st Street. At the intersection of 81st and Riverside, turn left. Go 1/3 mile to the 81st and Lewis intersection. The campus is in the northeast corner of this intersection (to your left). From the Tulsa International Airport: Follow the airport exit to Highway 11 East. Go approximately 2 miles on Highway 11 and merge into I-244 East. Stay in the right lane for one mile and exit onto Highway 169 South. Follow 169 for approximately 11/3 miles and exit onto I-44 West. Follow I-44 for six miles and take the Lewis Avenue exit off of I-44. There is a stoplight at the end of the exit. Turn left at the stoplight onto Lewis. Follow Lewis for 2 1/4 miles until you come to the campus on the east side (left) of Lewis prior to 81st Street. Campus Map is located on Documents Page.
Where do we go to register for camp?
ROOKIE CAMP – June 5, Between 7:45-8:30am, at the Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center INDIVIDUAL SKILLS CAMP – June 5, Between 12:45-1:30pm, at the Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center RESIDENTIAL CAMP – Registration for Residents (staying overnight) will be the lobby of EMR dormitory, located inside the campus of ORU (J on campus map), on June 19, 8:00-9:00am. For Commuters, registration will be 8:00-9:00am, at the Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center.
Where do we play?
For Rookie and Individual Skills Camp all activities will be held in Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center. Residential Camp participants will check-in each morning at the Aerobics Center and then the older kids will move to the Mabee Center. The younger kids will hold all activities at the Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center.
What do we need to bring?
ROOKIE CAMP – Basketball shoes, playing gear, concession/camp money (optional) INDIVIDUAL SKILLS CAMP – Basketball shoes, playing gear, concession/camp money (optional) RESIDENTIAL CAMP – (Commuters) Basketball shoes, playing gear (Residents) Basketball shoes, playing gear, twin sheet & pillow, light blanket, towels and wash-cloths, shower articles. Dorm Rooms will have a refrigerator and microwave for those bringing snacks and drinks.
What is the "Camp Bank" for Rookie and Individual Skills Camp?
A “Camp Bank” will be available where participants can place money in their accounts to use throughout camp. Each day campers will take a break and can choose snacks and drinks at the camp concession stand. Unused funds are returned on the last day of camp.
What is the meal schedule at Residential Camp?
For Commuters, meals include lunch and dinner only. For Residents, meals will include breakfast, lunch and dinner. (Not including breakfast on first day) Breakfast – 7:30-8:30am Lunch – 12:00-1:00pm Dinner – 5:00-6:00pm
Where is the Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center located?
ORU's Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center, located at the top of the hill at the intersection of 81st Street and Delaware Avenue. To get to the "AC", enter the ORU campus off of 81st Street at the University Avenue stoplight, which is between Delaware and Lewis Avenues. Turn right into the first parking lots you come to, and park next to the Stovall Administration Building. Keeping Stovall on your right, you will walk up the long sidewalk to gain access to the AC.
Can I come to Camp and watch my child or grandson?
Yes. The Scott Sutton Basketball Camps welcomes all parents and grandparents to attend at any time to watch the participants.
Who will stay with campers in the dorm?
We have adult Managers, Graduate Assistants, Players and Coaches staying with Kids in the dorm.
